Our Staff

William B. Fairley, PhD - President (  Resume)

Will Fairley is Senior Statistician and President at Analysis & Inference, which he co-founded in 1979. He received a PhD in Statistics from Harvard University after graduate training in Economics at the London School of Economics and at Harvard. Dr. Fairley has published over forty articles in professional journals in statistics, applied statistics, and economics and has testified as a statistical expert multiple times. He is the co-editor of Statistics and Public Policy, the author of "Statistics in Law" in the Encyclopedia of the Statistical Sciences, and "Public Policy and Statistics" in the International Encyclopedia of Statistics. Dr. Fairley has taught statistics at New York University, Temple University, Swarthmore College, Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, and Harvard Law School, where he co-taught one of the first courses in statistics for lawyers.

Alan J. Salzberg, PhD - CEO (  Resume)

Alan Salzberg is Senior Statistician and CEO of Analysis & Inference. Dr. Salzberg's focus is statistical analysis, modeling, and sample design, especially using large or complex datasets. Many of Dr. Salzberg's consulting projects and research papers have related to the detection and measurement of bias. Dr. Salzberg has testified as a statistical expert in multiple venues. Prior to joining Analysis & Inference, Dr. Salzberg founded Quantitative Analysis, Inc., a statistical consulting company. Prior to that, he was a Senior Manager at KPMG LLP in its Economic Consulting group. Dr. Salzberg holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he also received a Bachelor of Science in Economics. Jonathan C. Scott, MBA and MPIA (  Resume)

Jonathan Scott is a Senior Analyst at Analysis & Inference. Mr. Scott specializes in complex data analytical techniques and risk assessment. In addition, Mr. Scott is a co-inventor (along with Dr. Salzberg and three others) on a Patent for statistical process testing in telecommunications. Prior to joining Analysis & Inference, he was a Vice President at SunTrust Banks, Inc. in the Credit Risk Management division. Prior to that, he was a Manager at BearingPoint, Inc. and a Senior Consultant at KPMG, LLP. Mr. Scott received a Master of Business Administration and Master of Public & International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh, where he also received a B.A. in Political Science and Spanish (summa cum laude).

Anteneh Tesfaye, M.S.

Anteneh Tesfaye is Data and Computer Specialist at Analysis & Inference. His MS in Computer Science is from Johns Hopkins, and his BA in Computer Science is from Swarthmore College. He specializes in preparing and organizing large databases for analysis.

Albert Lee, PhD (Economics)

Albert Lee, Ph.D., is the founder and Chief Excellence Officer (CEO) of Summit Consulting. Dr. Lee is an expert in Economics, econometric modeling and estimation, and has more than ten years of experience conducting and leading applied statistical analysis engagements. For the last five years, he has managed the MultiFamily Risk Assessment Team, which provides statistical, data analysis, and research support to HUD. Dr. Lee has developed fair-lending monitoring and compliance tools, validated the statistical validity and effectiveness of mortgage credit scorecards, and estimated economic damages in antitrust and mass tort litigation. A graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) economics department, Dr. Lee has been a visiting professor at UCLA, George Washington University, and Columbia University.
